Central African Republic Entry Requirements

Visa, immigration, and customs information

Bangui M'Poko International Airport greets you with ceiling fans turning lazily above immigration officers in pressed khaki uniforms. Jet fuel and damp earth mingle in the thick air while the officers leaf through passports under humming fluorescent lights. Have your papers ready and the line moves fast; arrive unprepared and you’ll wait while several flights land at once. The red-blue flag frames each booth, rubber stamps clack against paper, and French mingles with Sango. If your documents falter, you’ll be escorted to an adjoining office where scarred wooden desks have seen decades of interrogations. Passports need six months’ validity and blank pages; anything less buys you a long conversation.
